The BEF Run For Education is a fantastic, family friendly event for first time runners to expert athletes. Proceeds from this event benefit the Benicia Education Foundation, a volunteer-run, community-based, non-profit organization that helps fund library and technology programs in the Benicia Unified School District.
The course highlights Benicia’s rich history. All races start from the beautiful waterfront green at the end of First Street. Runners will pass historical sights and gorgeous Victorian homes while enjoying breathtaking views of the Carquinez Straight and Bridge. The 10K course takes runners into the beautiful Benicia State Park. The 1 Mile Fun Run, open to kids 14 and under, runs along the waterfront green and the Benicia Marina. Everyone is a winner! The 5K and 10K events will be professionally timed with volunteers along the way to cheer on our runners and pass out water.
After the festivities, we would like to invite all participants to stay and enjoy a day in Benicia. With its great parks, restaurants, shopping, art, museums, marina and history everyone is sure to find something fun to do. Many local merchants will have special offers for you to enjoy.
